Beveridge Place Pub’s Hoptoberfest is well under way, and they need YOUR help to elect their house IPA for 2016.

Every Fall, the popular West Seattle pub puts on an elimination-style tournament in order to choose an IPA that will be be available on draft for the entirety of the following year.
Getting selected as the winner of this event can be a big deal for a smaller brewery as it guarantees increased exposure of their beer product to patrons of the iconic beer bar, while also securing a years worth of keg sales. Past winners have included Georgetown Lucille IPA, Schooner Exact 3-Grid IPA, Black Raven Trickster IPA, and Boundary Bay IPA.

From October 1st to the 12th patrons nominated their favorite beers, following guidelines set by pub for the event. The selections had to be single IPAs (no imperials) that are produced by a Washington brewery and must be available year-round. Thankfully, there is no shortage of excellent options in this hop-loving state!
Between October 13th and the 23rd, Beveridge Place Pub is running the top eight nominated IPAs on tap, and primary ballots are being issued with the purchase of a draft IPA (one vote per person per day).

The ‘Elite Eight’ to choose from are as follows:
Bale Breaker Topcutter IPA
Counterbalance IPA
Flying Lion Another IPA
Georgetown Bodhizafa IPA
Island Hoppin’ Elwha Rock IPA
Reuben’s Brews Crikey IPA
Schooner Exact Hopvine IPA
Two Beers Evo IPA

Between October 24th and November 3rd, the top three IPAs chosen during the primaries will be available on draft, and voting will be by blind tasting only.

Winners will be announced at the 10th annual IPA Cask-O-Rama on November 5-6th, an event featuring 24 Washington brewed cask IPAs served straight from the pub’s iconic bowling lane bar top.

Now go do your civic beer duty and vote for your favorite Washington IPA at Beveridge Place Pub!

Beveridge Place Pub is located at 6413 California Ave SW, Seattle, WA.
