CIDERCRAFT & Alderbrook Resort Host Inaugural CiderHood

CiderHood is the inaugural two-day celebration of all things cider. CIDERCRAFT magazine and Alderbrook Resort & Spa collaborated to create an event that would honor all the cideries in this exploding industry.

CiderHood festivities will begin Friday, October 23, 6:00pm-9:00pm with a formal dinner featuring Alderbrook’s Executive Chef Josh Delgado’s three-course menu. All of the ingredients used in the dinner are seasonal Pacific Northwest fare. Tickets are $79 and available by calling Alderbrook at 360-898-2145.

Chef’s Cider Dinner Menu:

Brûléed Washington cheddar with apple butter, compressed pears, pecan crostini and a whiskey syrup

– Paired with Selkie cider by Finnriver for Alderbrook

Cauliflower soup with curried oil, tempura cauliflower and candied pine nuts

– Paired with Hallelujah Hopricot by Reverend Nat’s

Roasted pork wit caramelized cabbage, caraway, barley, papria emulsion and  apple & pickled mustard seed salad

– Paired with Forest Ginger by Finnriver

Apricot tart tatin with apple chantilly and sorrel

– Paired with Revival Hard Apple by Reverend Nat’s

 

The Cider Tasting portion of CiderHood will take place on Saturday, October 24, 12:00pm-4:00pm. 15 cideries will participate alongside numerous food purveyors, who will be creating small plates featuring Northwest-foraged foods. Some small plate selections include a raw bar by Hama Hama Oyster Company, paella from Paella House, and harvest ice cream from Olympic Mountain Ice Cream.

Admission into CiderHood is free, drink tickets will be available for purchase.

CiderHood will be held at Alderbrook Resort & Spa which is located at 10 E Alderbrook Drive, Union, WA.
