Redhook Brewery and Caffe Vita have partnered up again for another rendition of Double Black Stout. This coffee-infused stout features notes of roasted espresso, dark chocolate, and toffee. The team last made this beer last in 2012 but now have Nick Crandall as Redhook’s Innovative Brewer at the helm. Crandall has been with Redhook for two years now and previously worked at Boundary Bay Brewing in Bellingham. Double Black Stout has not been released from the brewery in three years, and prior to that it was last released in 2008. However, with the ever-growing list of customer requests for Double Black, Redhook and Caffe Vita have agreed to bring it back for a limited time. Crandall and Daniel Shewmaker, Caffe Vita’s Green Bean Buyer, both stated they are excited for this collaboration again, seeing how both companies really strive for quality and excellence in each field.

Double Black Stout features Caffe Vita’s La Angustora Coffee, a seasonal release, which is a medium roast coffee that gives a creamy body with a slight hazelnut, cocoa, and caramel character.
